Dual Credit

STEP 1

Students new to DC attend one of the information meetings (3/23 @6pm; 3/25 @2:45pm; or 3/26 @2:45pm) or watch the NewDCRegPres26-27 video with parents

Returning DC students watch the video provided by Mrs. Brown & Mrs. Miller

9^th grade College Academy students attended a meeting with Mrs. Brown & Mrs. Miller

STEP 2

NEW DC students ONLY complete the ONLINE application:  www.applytexas.org (instructions can be found at https://sites.google.com/view/jvhscounseling/college-career/dual-credit)  You should have completed this in your English II class or in the College Academy PACE class.  You will need your Lone Star College ID# and student email address to proceed.

STEP 3

Meet test requirements for course(s).  Sign up for testing if needed for advanced math and science classes (Pre-Calculus; Calculus; Chemistry; Physics):  www.tinyurl.com/JVAccu

Spanish IV & V students will test in October. Contact Mrs. Brown if you have questions.

STEP 4

New DC students ONLY - complete the DC Demographic Google Doc to request registration forms (Returning DC students or College Academy students do not need to do this if you have already received your registration paperwork. See Mrs. Brown in H House if you did not get your forms from Mrs. Miller or Mrs. Brown in your DC English III, DC US History, DC Precalculus, or DC Spanish class or at the 9th grade College Academy meeting)

STEP 5

FILL OUT & return the colored coded DC Course Selection form & the purple LSC Parent Consent form ASAP

- Course Selection form instructions: Verify student information at the top and check all DC classes you want to take in Fall/Spring 2026-27 (You must meet course requirements and request testing if necessary – step 3)

                     White form is for 9^th grade college academy students

                     Pink form is for students new to dual credit

                     Green form is for returning dual credit students

- Verify the student information in the TOP BOX of the purple form

 - Parent & Student signatures are REQUIRED ON BOTH forms

All complete forms are due by April 30 in the H HOUSE office – NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!

STEP 6

Make Payment for your classes beginning August 1, 2026 – August 19, 2026 @ 5pm

IN PERSON: LSC CyFair campus CASA Building – Payment counter

STEP 7

Work hard in class(es) & earn a C or higher for transferable credit

Yellow Counselor Course request verification you get in April and colored LSC DC request form you return to Mrs. Brown needs to match!
