Vanessa Lozano  is so kind to everyone. She is flexible and takes direction so well. The theatre department is so lucky to have her. - Brittany Sproles

At the CFISD Livestock show, Payton Victoria helped run the video board and was praised by district communication staff as being professional, hardworking, and knowledgeable. She has also grown to be an excellent producer and leader in JVTV!  Great job pay pay - Milson

Haley Vasquez is very kind to all her peers and teachers. She comes into each class with a smile and ready-to-go attitude. She takes time to have meaningful and fun conversations with her peers to keep them lively and entertained. She completes her work in class with no hesitation nor complaining. She also was brave when volunteering to join the honorary cheer squad over the past two weeks. As a senior, she has grown academically and socially each and every year, and is an encouragement to have in class. - Christian Buhl

Ryder McCrory is a very responsible calculus student. He takes ownership of his learning every day and will let me know in advance when he is going to be absent. Last week, he knew he would be out on test day so he took the test a day early. He ended up making the highest score on the test! I have truly enjoyed having him in my class this year! - Michelle Nelsen

JV’s of the Week for February 12th, 2024

  • Taylor Williams
  • Perpetual Akata
  • Bradley Sheehy

Since winter break, Taylor has come back with an even better attitude and willingness to learn. He's done great with the new material and has even suggested some interesting topics/videos to help supplement our lessons in my elective course. I've been very impressed with his commitment to success towards his learning. - Coach Hall

Perpetual always has a sunny disposition and greets me in Spanish with a smile.  It's always a pleasure to see her. - Renee Ingham

Brad always has a positive attitude and great energy each day in class. He is really good at encouraging his fellow classmates to get work done and be productive alongside him. He is also a great friend to peers, noticing when their energy is off and lending an ear when they need to talk about things. - Chelsea Dilliard (Suprean)

JV’s of the Week for Feburary 5th, 2024

  • Kevin Co
  • Karenn Guerrero
  • Yashar Samsami
  • Sifti Kaur

Kevin Co consistent positive attitude is infectious. His willingness to help out others and uplift them has helped shape the culture of our 6th period. This past Friday he literally gave someone the shoes straight off of his feet so that they could participate in their match. Kev Co is the shining example of what a Falcon can be. - Mr. Hall

Karenn Guerrero works hard in her classes and keeps up with the work.  She is "present" during the lessons and asks questions that benefit other students in class. - Laura Oswalt

Yashar Samsami  - I was absent last week and posted a video lesson for my calculus students to watch. Yashar took ownership by attempting the homework problems for many hours even though he was struggling with the material since I wasn't there to teach it in person. He committed himself to solving his calculus even though the problems were very challenging! He also asks great questions in class and helps us stay on task because he takes his ownership of his learning very seriously! - Michelle Nelsen

Sifti Kaur is an outstanding student in my class. She consistently stays ahead of the assigned Microsoft projects. Since she is able to work ahead, she often spends her class time helping her fellow students understand the project tasks in Microsoft Excel. I have actually called her my Assistant Teacher, because that is the behavior she takes on for multiple students in the computer lab. Sifti displays enthusiasm, optimism, and leadership everyday. She is an excellent role model with an excellent attitude. She defines what SOAR is all about. - Mr. Todd Newberg

JV’s of the Week for January 29th, 2024

  • Ariel Blalock
  • Christine Tran
  • Orlando Garza
  • Santiago Martinez

Ariel Blalock:     Honestly, I wish I could have nominated her for every SOAR category. Ariel has a maturity level well beyond her years. She takes ownership for every project, every endeavor, actually, when it comes to the Teaching and Training pathway. She is supportive, helpful, and encouraging to her peers and demonstrates creativity and enthusiasm consistently. For example, on her own accord, Ariel regularly reaches out to other students whom she knows are struggling and offers her assistance on assignments and projects. She will communicate with me about those she helps and will ask for affirmation that the information she has disseminated is correct. It is such a joy to witness these characteristics already exhibited in a future teacher! Additionally, she has successfully secured a spot at the TAFE State competitions (no easy feat) and we all hope she will proceed to the national competitions this summer.  - Dr. Liz Starr

Christine Tran is always so helpful to the teacher and their peers.  I enjoy her positive personality and thoughtfulness.      - Laura Oswalt

Orlando Garza is a leader in his section. Goes beyond what is required in class. Consistently practices his music and achieves great success in orchestra. - Matthew Beland

Santiago Martinez always takes responsibility for completing exceptional work, even when circumstances work against him. He has been a model student others can look to for guidance. - Samantha Routh
