Jan. 30, 2026—The 12th Superintendent’s Fun Run is scheduled for March 28 from 8-11 a.m. at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road) and Towne Lake community. Filled with exciting live entertainment, two course layouts for running or walking, kids’ activities and other family-friendly attractions, the fun run is the largest outdoor fundraising event in the district. Funds raised will directly benefit student scholarships through the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation.

Sept. 11, 2025—A total of 18 CFISD seniors representing seven high schools were confirmed as semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program, officials announced on Sept. 9, allowing academically talented students to continue in the competition for approximately 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million.

Aug. 18, 2025—The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) named CFISD a 2025 District of Distinction award winner, marking the fifth consecutive year the district has earned the prestigious designation. CFISD is among only 109 districts in the state to earn the award.

July 24, 2025—CFISD was recently named an Exemplary District of Distinction by the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA). Dec. 10, 2024—Jersey Village High School senior Briseyda Covarrubias decorated a holiday ornament that has made its way to the State Capitol. Parents with children enrolled in bilingual or ESL classes at CFISD schools who want to learn English are invited to enroll in district-offered ESL classes for parents.
